Has anyone seen Bobby?

HAS ANYONE SEEN BOBBY?

WRITTEN BY JOHN BARRY:

Has anyone seen Bobby?  Well, Bobby got a crew position on Rogue Wave, the beautiful and fast trimaran that he was boat sitting for all winter.  Rogue Wave headed north to her home in Connecticut with Bobby aboard as crew.  Rogue Wave sailed out of Culebra in mid April with her skipper, an auto pilot, and a two man crew.  Right after Rogue Wave cleared Culebra her auto pilot crapped out.  Too much speed!  So Bobby and his mates headed to Bermuda manning the helm 24 - 7!  The delivery team enjoyed typically high speeds averaging 20 knots in moderate winds and reasonable seas.  Unfortunately, Bobby's fellow crewmate followed the auto pilot’s example and permanently headed to his bunk with sea sickness leaving only Bobby and the skipper to stand watches.  After repositioning in Bermuda, Rogue Wave headed out to cross the Stream.  In the middle of the Stream, in the middle of the night, Bobby and his mates were hit by a strong cold front packing 55 MPH winds complete with very violent thunder and lightning.  With the skipper at the helm, Bobby was the last man standing capable of bringing down sails and managing the decks!  The storm raged all night with Rogue Wave screaming along at 30 knots boat speed!  If it wasn't for Bobby, Rogue Wave might have met her end in the Gulf Stream's piston like waves.  Bobby tied himself to the deck and worked on deck all through the wet and wild night.  Eventually the storm passed but not without some damage to Rogue waves gear.  By the time they arrived in Connecticut, Bobby's reputation as a tough as nails crew circulated around the yachting community in New England.  Bobby stayed on with Rogue Wave to prepare her to win the up coming Bermuda Race.  As Bobby's heroic reputation circulated around the yachting world, other racing boat owners lined up to sign Bobby up to help them with their yachts too.

So, that's where Bobby's been!  Congratulations to Bobby and a job well done!
