I have recently found out that in order to fish, dive for conch and lobster you have to purchase an annual fishing license. Yes it is being enforced. Several local Culebra residents are off to court for not having a license. To obtain a license contact:
Department of Natural Records in Culebra 787-742-0720
License is from 11 March 2005 to 11 March 2006
Lobster $15.00
Conch $15.00
Crab $15.00
Fish $5.00
Partial owner of Oasis Pizza has gutted the entire establishment and closed it's doors. I asked Javier if Oasis is closed for good and he said yes, but there were some legal issues. 15 minutes later I spoke with the other 1/2 owner Heather. She told me that she holds the lease and hoped to be open for business by Thanksgiving. She also said there were a few legal issues to tackle first. I hope everything works out and we can eat at Oasis again.
